Today was a big release day for Spellbound Nails. For those of you who missed the St. Patrick's Day presales, The Drunken Leprechaun Duo is now fully released and available in full size and mini bottles as well as individual bottles - Lucky Charm and Magically Delicious.

Happy St. Patrick's Day - Food Flashback

Hello everyone. Just wanted to drop in and wish a Happy St. Patrick's Day to all those who celebrate.

This is a St. Patrick's Day cake I did about two years ago ... during the beginning of my cake decorating phase (but before my photography phase, so sadly the pics aren't great). It's a simple white cake with some green gel food coloring to get the perfect shade of green without ruining the consistency of the cake. It is a wonderful surprise to those eating it when they cut through the white icing to see bright green cake!! The rainbow is simply M&Ms flipped so the M isn't visible. :)

If I could do this cake again I would grab enough M&Ms to line the entire side of the cake in rainbow. You could also do just about any flavor of cake. I'm not fond of it personally, but a small dollop of some kind of mint extract would be a nice surprise to those who are fond of it in food.

St. Patrick's Day Duo

Hello everyone! I'd like to introduce you to a cute little duo you can now buy in my Etsy shop.

This is the St. Patrick's Day Duo. I missed getting my Valentine's Day polish out so I'm jumping the gun on this collection. :) Meet Fool's Gold and Clover the Rainbow.

Fool's Gold has a clear base filled with small and medium matte green glitter and large gold glitter — all hex.

Here is Fool's Gold over Petites Black. I adore how this looks! Almost like a galaxy nail or a flakey ... maybe a combination of both. :)

I also tried Fool's Gold over CQ Pearls. I thought Fool's Gold would look better over the slightly shimmery, off-white color than it would over regular white.

The second half of this lucky duo is Clover the Rainbow, named by Lyssa over on my Facebook page.  Clover the Rainbow is a green jelly with small matte green hex glitter and rainbow holographic hex glitter.

With three coats over bare nails you might not get full coverage, as is typical with a jelly, but you could certainly wear this out and show your Irish pride!

If you're looking for full coverage, you can wear one coat over white for a minty, lightly glittered nail.

Two coats over white will get you this look in sunlight. Clover the Rainbow is a very versatile polish. Change it up for different looks, wear it alone or with an undie.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, my lovely followers! I had absolutely nothing planned for today as I was so excited by the China Glaze Hunger Games collection. Still, I felt I had to do something. I hardly ever let a holiday go by without giving at least a slight nod of acknowledgment.


So, I went with something very simple. This is a design that anyone can do. (Which is always great, right?) It's simply two coats of white polish on all my fingers, then I used a semi-small dotting tool for the dotted nails; you can use a different size or even a toothpick to get your dots. The rainbow nail is my shaky freehand (way too much coffee lately) but you can use the tape method to get near perfect lines. It's all very simple but gives a very eye-catching set of nails.

Full Sun

A hint for doing dots? Do them one line (up and down) at a time and stagger them. Every other line should match up. It's so much easier than trying to do them vertically across your nail.
